With over 30 years of experience in the care sector, my journey in nursing began in a local care home, where I discovered my passion for supporting those in need. Born and raised in Blackburn, I have a deep understanding of our local communities and the people at the heart of them.
My commitment to caring for the most vulnerable led me to a 20-year career within the NHS, where I worked in some of the busiest departments, including Women’s Health, Medical and Surgical wards.
Eager to expand my knowledge, I pursued a degree in Adult Nursing, which further deepened my interest in human health and behaviour. Balancing my studies while raising my two children was one of my greatest achievements, and it reinforced my dedication to both personal and professional growth. No challenge was too great, because I knew that every opportunity allowed me to give more to my patients and those around me.
Through years of experience, I have come to realise that sometimes, the smallest gestures and interactions can have the greatest impact on someone’s well-being. True compassion, kindness and understanding often mean more than words. Nursing, to me, is an art—one that requires vision beyond what is immediately visible.
Throughout my career, I have remained true to my caring roots, always striving to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, no matter how big or small. Inspired by the great leaders and mentors who guided me, I now endeavour to inspire and support others in their own journeys.
As a Registered Nurse Manager at Together Homecare, I am proud to be part of a team that shares my vision—providing high-quality, bespoke care that supports our clients, their families and the wider community. Together, we are committed to making a real difference in the lives of those we care for.
